Ham and Cheese Stuffed Bread #BreadBakers

I served these rolls, stuffed with ham and provolone, with bowls of Norwegian Fish Chowder, known as Fiskesuppe, for dinner one night and the remainder for breakfast the following day.  They would also make a great lunchbox meal.

Baked Mac and Cheese with Ham for the First Day of Christmas

Our Christmas Season continues until January 6th when we celebrate the Epiphany.  Until then, our decorations remain, the tree stays lit, and the feasting continues.  It is a joyous time of year.

Mac and Cheese with Ham

Our feasting this week includes enjoying all the wonderful leftovers from our abundant Christmas Dinner. Tonight we enjoyed some leftover ham and leftover cheese from my cheese tray in a Macaroni and Cheese Casserole.  There was some Broccoli Slaw left to enjoy as a side dish.

Breakfast Quesadilla #SundayFunday

A quick and easy breakfast sandwich with a Mexican Flair.  Ham and cheese flavored with salsa and melted onto a grilled quesadilla.  You can just grab it and run out the door but I like sour cream with mine.

Olivye (Ukrainian Potato Salad) and the Weekly Menu #MoviesandMunchies

We took a detour in Movies and Munchies this month and instead of watching a film we watched episodes of  Servant of the People starring President Zelensky before he was President of Ukraine and before the invasion.

Servant of the People (Netflix photo)

I have watched several of the episodes and I can see why Zelensky caught the heart of his people and won the election.  I'm not sure that I would have voted for the man strictly based on his portrayal of a president but, luckily, for the Ukraine he was up to the job.

Garlic and Pineapple Glazed Ham #NationalGarlicDay

This ham is crusted with crushed pineapple, garlic and honey before being baked for a unique and different Island Style dinner.

Garlic and Pineapple Glazed Ham

I served this up last November for an Island Style Friendsgiving Dinner with our Dive Family. I got so caught up in the festivities that I forgot to take photos until after dinner.  You can see, by the large dent in the ham, that it was a big hit......

Peameal Ham and Egg Sandwich #SundayFunday

Peameal ham, also called Peameal Bacon, is a brined pork loin roast that was once coated in crushed yellow peas (but now coated in cornmeal) to preserve it.  It was developed in Canada in 1854 and is found mainly in Ontario, Canada.  It is not what we call Canadian Bacon here in the USA.

Hemendex #EattheWorld

I was researching Slovakian recipes for this month's Eat the World Challenge and numerous recipes for Hemendex popped up.  I opened the first one and saw a photo of Ham and Eggs, it took me until the third recipe to finally hear in my head "Hemendex" as Ham and Eggs with a Slovakian accent.  I'm not really quick sometimes LOL.

Hemendex

I chose this recipe because it was such a fun name and because, with Easter around the corner, I thought it was a great way to used up leftover ham.
