An Algerian Chicken paired with Organic Wines from South Africa #EattheWorld #WinePW
When I was visiting my friend Linda in Tucson last month, she gifted me a packet of Ras el Hanout that she had picked up during a cruise to northern Africa. I decided to use it to make this Algerian Chicken dish.
Then, since I am hosting our Eat the World event this month, I invited the others to visit Algeria with me.

This white wine blend from the Lake Garda region of Italy is smooth, full-bodied, and delicious. I was sent this bottle from Susannah at Vigneto Communications and Avvinare, who was hosting a webinar featuring wines from this region.

A Favorite Italian Wine? How do I begin to choose? #ItalianFWT
Our challenge this month, given by Camilla of Culinary Cam, was to share our favorite Italian Wine. Say what?!! Am I really expected to choose just one Italian wine out of all the wonderful wines they have to offer?
I've decided to share a new Italian wine I enjoyed recently at a wine tasting. This wine is from the Langhe region of Piedmont, a white wine in a land known for its reds.

Wondering whether to serve Red or White for Thanksgiving? How about Orange? #WinePW
When our administrator, David of Cooking Chat, suggested we share Creative Thanksgiving Wine Pairings this month, I immediately knew I would share an orange wine. I mean, what is more fall-like and unusual than an orange wine?

A Sancerre by any other name......is a Sauvignon Blanc. Sancerre is the French appellation in which this 100% Sauvignon Blanc is made. Sancerre is located in the eastern part of the Loire Valley. The Loire Valley is our destination this month with the French Winophiles. Specifically, the White Wines of Loire Valley.

The Wine I Paired with Classic Summer Fare #WinePW
Summertime and the Livin' is Easy. Here on the Farm our days consist of lounging in the pool and grilling dinner for whoever happens to stop by. I always try to have a variety of wines available to please any palate, but for my palate, I prefer this hearty red blend from Decoy, especially when it is burgers on the grill.

Exploring a Dealcoholized Wine
So as the New Year begins I, as I'm sure many of you, think about taking better care of myself. I work out several times a week, I walk daily, and I try to eat healthily for the most part. But I DO like my wine and that wine turns immediately to sugar and belly fat.

Chicken Spiedini and Il Sorriso from Sicily #ItalianFWT
It's Summertime throughout the northern Continents, so we try to beat the heat by breaking out the grills. If we were visiting or living in Italy that might mean Spiedini. Spiedini translates to skewers. Any meat or item can be used. If it is on a skewer it is Spiedini.

Altos de la Guardia Rioja paired with Tacos Ticos #WinePW
This full-bodied red wine from Spain is made with Tempranillo grapes providing spicy notes combined with summer fruit. It has a high alcohol content (14.5%) and was strong enough to stand up to deep-fried taco ticos with which I served it.
