Garlic and Herb Marinated Chicken Thighs #ImprovCoookingChallenge

Chicken thighs marinated in garlic, herbs and sumac, a commonly used Middle Eastern spice, then grilled until slightly charred in spots and served with a yogurt dipping sauce.  So very delicious!!!

Between the Sheets #LemonWeek

Fresh lemon juice combined with brandy, gin, and triple sec creates this cocktail that originated in Jerusalem.  Date of origin is not certain but it appears to have been in the late 1920s or early 1930s which makest the name very risque at that time.

The Big 7 0 Celebration

We celebrated Frank's 70th Birthday Sunday, however today is his actual birthday.  As my regular readers know, Frank had a rough start to this year so we had much reason to celebrate.

God smiled down upon us and gave us one beautiful day between last weeks rain and this week's forecasted rain.  It was sunshine and 80* perfect for an outdoor celebration.  The Angel Face made this stuffy for her Grampy for his birthday, she sewed it herself.

Lamb Stuffed Eggplant and a Perfect Wine from Galilee #WinePW

A Crazy Month, A Fun Movie and The Weekly Menu #FoodnFlix

This has been a crazy, busy month.  It started out with us going to Cozumel on vacation.  As soon as we got home we hit the track running and we haven't stopped.  Until now, when the whole world has come to a standstill.

Luckily, I did find a free couple of hours to watch a fun Tim Burton Film called Big Fish.  Our FoodnFlix club this month is being hosted by Kim of Coffee and Casseroles.  Kim asked us to choose any Tim Burton film and create a recipe inspired by it.  You can learn more at Kim's announcement post.

Tepsi Baytinjan #EattheWorld

This traditional Iraqi casserole is cooked up in a skillet before transferring to a casserole. Layer fried eggplant, potatoes, and onions.  Top with tomatoes and sauce then nestle meatballs on top and in between before moving it to the oven for a final bake. Serve it with steamed rice.
