Cranberry Pecan Sourdough Bread #CranberryWeek
This bread takes a long time to make. It needs to rest for an hour, rise overnight and then rise for another hour or two after forming into a loaf and before baking. I was thinking it was hardly worth the trouble and then I put it in the oven.....and the smells coming from the kitchen got my stomach to a rumbling. It needs to rest for another hour before you can slice it. I had to force myself to wait. Just look how gorgeous this loaf is........
Let me tell you, this bread is definitely worth the wait. Tender, airy bread chock full of dried cranberries and toasted pecans. Spread on a schmear of butter, take a bite, and you will know that it was time well spent.

Orange Cranberry Bundt Cake #BundtBakers #CranberryWeek
Sue said we could make any Bundt that would be good to serve up on a game day. To me that meant something without any frosting or glaze so that it could be easily eaten out of hand.
It just so happens that we are also celebrating Cranberry Week, hosted by Caroline of Caroline's Cooking. Bloggers in this event have been sharing their favorite recipes using Cranberries all week long. I shared a Cranberry Coffee Cake on Monday and I will be back tomorrow with a recipe for a wonderful Holiday cocktail.
Tonight we are celebrating our Little Miss Melody's Christening Anniversary over at Amy's house. Amy, being Melody's Godmother, celebrates with a dinner each year to commemorate this joyous event.
I volunteered to make dessert and then went on a search for a Bundt cake containing cranberries that would meet our Angel Face's standards. I found this Orange Cranberry Bundt by Jeff Mauro of The Kitchen.
I adapted it slightly by omitting the orange liqueur and adding orange extract since it was meant for a three year old. If you are making this for a Football Party feel free to omit the orange extract and replace with 2 teaspoons of orange liqueur.
Melody and I got up early and started baking. The batter was light and fluffy and seemed to fit perfectly in my pan.

Cranberry Coffee Cake #CranberryWeek
Our host for this week long event is Caroline of Caroline's Cooking. She invited us to join her as we kick off the holiday season by making recipes that contain cranberries in any form; fresh, dried, juice, etc.
I will only be participating today, Thursday and Friday but I will be posting with other groups on Tuesday and Wednesday so I hope to see you each day this week.
I am starting the week off with this coffee cake that I adapted from a recipe in one of my Cuisine at Home magazines. We had our choir concert yesterday and were asked to bring desserts for the reception afterwards.
I like bringing coffee cake instead of frosted cakes to potluck type events because it is so much easier to cut into serving size pieces and pack up for transport.

Pumpkin Dump Cake with Cranberries for the Final Day of #CranberryWeek
I am serving up dessert today. A perfect ending to a perfect Cranberry Feast. This recipe was sent to me by my friend, Linda, and I adapted it to fit in with our Cranberry theme. I made this quite a while back and took it to a church function for which I provided dinner. It was a huge hit and not a bite was left. This easy and tasty cake would be a perfect addition to your Thanksgiving dessert menu.
Thank you for joining us this week. It was fun. Now let's see what the others brought today!

Mixed Berry Sorbet #CranberryWeek
Monday, I shared a recipe for Brussels Sprouts with Cranberries that would be a great side for your Turkey dinner. I love hosting Thanksgiving and gathering around the table with family and friends. I spend a lot of time on my menu, desiring the dinner to be a relaxed and happy time for everyone present.
We will have fruit, nut and cheese platters set out for our guests to enjoy with cocktails before dinner is served. When we are seated and have thanked God for all the many blessings we have enjoyed throughout the year, dinner will start with soup and salad, followed by this wonderful sorbet that I am sharing with you today. When serving a formal dinner, I like to offer a sorbet before the entree to cleanse the palate and prepare the guests for the main event...in this case...Roast Turkey with all the trimmings.
This sorbet is easy and quick enough that you can serve it up tomorrow at your own Thanksgiving Feast. Whatever your Holiday plans, I hope that you have a wonderful day and I look forward to seeing you on Friday when I return with my final #CranberryWeek recipe.
Don't forget to stop by and see the other great cranberry inspired recipes that the group is sharing. You will find the links following this recipe.
Mixed Berry Sorbet
1/2 c. freshly squeezed orange juice
1/2" piece fresh ginger root, peeled and quartered
3/4 c. sugar
1 (12 oz) pkg. fresh or frozen cranberries
3 c. frozen mixed berries with kale, partially thawed
1/2 c mint leaves
1/2 t. cinnamon
1/2 t. pumpkin pie spice
1 1/2 c. ice cubes
Place all ingredients in into a heavy duty blender or food processor and puree until smooth. Transfer to a freezer container and place in freezer. Remove from freezer 15-20 minutes before serving. Print Recipe
