Strawberry Shortcake and Cheesecake collide in this delicious and easy dessert.
S is for Strawberries........
My blogging friends and I get together every other Wednesday to share recipes that start or feature ingredients as we work our way through the alphabet. Let's take a look at the other S recipes being shared today........
This delicious dessert starts with a white cake crust, topped with a no-bake cream cheese filling that is loaded with strawberries.
I served it up when celebrating my son-in-law Pierre's birthday. It is a very impressive dessert. Nobody will realize how easy it is.
Last year, for the Letter S, I shared Semitas. In 2025, I shared a recipe for Southern Style BBQ Shrimp.

Strawberry Shortcake Cheesecake
Strawberry Shortcake and Cheesecake collide in this delicious and easy dessert.
Prep time: 30 MinCook time: 10 MinTotal time: 40 Min
Ingredients
- 1 box white cake mix + ingredients called for on the box
- 16 oz. cream cheese, room temperature
- 3/4 c. powdered sugar
- 2 c. heavy (whipping) cream
- 1 quart strawberries, sliced
- 1 pint strawberries, stemmed and hulled, left whole
Instructions
- Make the cake mix according to package directions. Pour 1/2 into the bottom of an 8" springform pan that has been treated with baking spray. (Use remaining cake mix for cupcakes or a single layer cake.) Bake in a preheated 325 ° oven for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- In the large bowl of a stand mixer, fitted with the whisk attachment, cream the cheese until light and fluffy, and mix in the sugar. With the mixer on low speed, gradually add the cream until incorporated. Increase speed and whip until stiff peaks form.
- Press some sliced strawberries against the side of the springform pan, touching the cake. Place the whole strawberries on top of the cake and cover with the cheesecake mixture. Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, or overnight.

This recipe is DOUBLE YUM! Not only do you get the cheesecake...but you also get another cake of cupcakes??? YES!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, and I cut up some of the strawberries I had and mixed them into the extra cake batter before baking.
DeleteWhat a beautiful dessert, Wendy! It doesn't look too heavy either.
ReplyDeleteIt was very nice, Stacy. Sure to become a family favorite.
DeleteWhat a brilliant idea Wendy.. 2 in one recipes. Strawberry Shortcake Cheesecake looks pretty.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mayuri.
DeleteThis is perfection. And potentially fantastic for a last minute dessert. I remember when I found out that you could buy a plain cake round from the grocery store bakery for just a few bucks when I needed a half of a cake round layer for a base and didn't want to bake a whole cake. I kept the other half of the layer well wrapped in the freezer and this would go together so quickly with that!
ReplyDeleteIt sure would, Kelly.
DeleteI love the strawberries surrounding the outside. So fancy looking and no one will know how easy it was.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely, Karen.
DeleteI love strawbeery dessert and this cheesecake is spot on! Love it. I am adding this to my list.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy it, Radha.
DeleteI will pick up some strawberries at the farmers' market on Friday! if they survive being eaten by the handful, I will attempt this.
ReplyDeleteLet me know how you like it, Cam. You are the cheesecake Queen.
DeleteOh, I’d love a slice of this! I like that you used cake for the base, and all those strawberries make it so pretty.
