My Angel Face loves playing outside. It doesn't matter to her how frigid it is out there. If there is snow and ice, she is raring to get out there. We make sure she is dressed for the weather and let her go. When she comes in we always have a piping hot cup of hot cocoa waiting for her.
She was very thrilled when, finally, we could heat up a mug of milk and she could drop in a bomb!!
She watched it melt for a few moments before stirring and watching it turn into her favorite drink.
She took a sip.....grinned.....and pronounced it "AMAZING".

Homemade Hot Chocolate Bombs
Looking for a fun cold winter project with your favorite sous chef? Look no further than these fun Hot Chocolate Bombs filled with hot cocoa, micro marshmallows, and sprinkles with more sprinkles for decoration.
Ingredients
- 12 oz. semi sweet chocolate chips
- 6 T. hot cocoa mix
- 1/2 c. micro marshmallows
- Sprinkles for decorating
- Also needed:
- *food grade paint brushes
- *2 (2") 6 well, silicone, sphere molds
Instructions
- Place the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl and heat on high in 30 second intervals, stirring after each, until melted and smooth.
- Using food grade paint brushes (used only for food products) paint the inside of the wells in each mold. Place in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to harden, and paint the molds again. Place in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
- Loosen the chocolate spheres from the molds. Place 6 of them into the refrigerator to stay cold. Set the remaining 6 lightly back into the molds to hold them. Spoon 1 Tablespoon of Hot Cocoa Mix into each and then add desired amount of sprinkles and micro marshmallows. Place back into the refrigerator for a few minutes until chocolate is stiff and hard.
- Reheat the remaining chocolate to liquid, if needed. Remove the spheres from the refrigerator and paint the edges with chocolate, press an empty sphere onto a filled sphere and then paint with chocolate to seal shut. Sprinkle the wet chocolate strip with sprinkles and store in the refrigerator until ready to use.
- To use hot chocolate bombs: Heat a cup of milk in a mug to simmering. Add a hot chocolate bomb and stir until melted and incorporated. 30
