Oatmeal Waffles #SundayFunday

These waffles are made with oats, giving them a wonderful, toothsome bite that makes for a stick-to-your-ribs breakfast that will last you right up until lunchtime.

I topped my waffles with butter and pure Maple syrup.  They are also delicious topped with yogurt and fresh fruit if you want to add a little more nutrition to start your day.

Oatmeal Waffles

Oatmeal Waffles

These waffles are made with oats, giving them a wonderful, toothsome bite that makes for a stick-to-your-ribs breakfast that will last you right up until lunchtime.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 c. oats
  • 3 t. baking powder
  • 1/2 t. cinnamon
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 6 T. butter, melted
  • 2 T. brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour, oats, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Whisk together the eggs, milk, butter, and brown sugar. Pour into the flour mixture, stirring until blended.
  3. Cook per waffle maker directions.

  1. Great idea to add oats, Wendy! I'm not a huge fan of oatmeal/porridge but this is a warm breakfast I would really enjoy.
