Chocolate Chip Pie #SundayFunday

Delectable, Chocolate Chip Cookie in a flaky pastry crust.  I topped mine with ice cream and a drizzle of dark chocolate.  A perfect ending to a Holiday Dinner.

Can't decide if you are yearning for cookies or pie? This scrumptious dessert has you covered.  Add a scoop of ice cream and some chocolate syrup and you have a sundae too!!

I used a premade frozen pie crust for this recipe but feel free to make your favorite pie crust. The one I shared when I made this Double Crust Apple Pie is easy, flaky, and delicious.  I actually had the Angel Face make this pie when we were having family dinner.  It only took her minutes to make the filling for the defrosted pie crust.

Chocolate Chip Pie

Chocolate Chip Pie

Delectable, Chocolate Chip Cookie in a flaky pastry crust. I topped mine with ice cream and a drizzle of dark chocolate.

Ingredients

  • pastry for one 9" deep dish pie shell
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter, room temperature
  • 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In large bowl of stand mixer, beat the eggs on high speed until foamy. Add the flour and both sugars. Mix on low speed until incorporated then beat in the butter.
  2. Stir in the chocolate chips and spoon into the pie shell.
  3. Bake in a preheated 325* oven for about an hour, until a knife inserted in the center, removes cleanly.
  4. Serve warm or at room temperature with a scoop of ice cream and some chocolate syrup, if desired.
