Peppermint Candy Sandwich Cooies

Today is the final day of Christmas Cookie Week......
I want to start off this post by thanking Jolene of Jolene's Recipe Journal for hosting this fun, annual event.  I always look forward to Christmas Cookie Week.  Not only do I get to make and share new delicious recipes with my family, friends, and loyal readers but I get great ideas for upcoming recipes.

Let's see what ideas are being shared today......

Peppermint Candy Sandwich Cookies

I wanted to share these amazing confections on the last day of this event.  I have been watching my friend Sally of Bewitching Kitchen post numerous photos of amazing-looking chocolate-coated Oreos on Facebook.  She finally told her followers that she was able to make such amazing creations by using a silicone mold made just the right size for Oreos.  I ordered it immediately.  Thanks, Sally!!

Once you have the molds, the rest is easy peasy.  I used mint Oreos, covered in white chocolate melts topped with crushed peppermint sprinkles.  You can use any flavor or brand of sandwich cookie that you like in this recipe.

It took one pound of candy melts to cover 12 sandwich cookies.  This is a fun, easy project to do with your youngsters and they will be very proud of how pretty their cookies turned out.  They make great gifts for their teachers.
