Enchanted Poison Apple Cocktail for Movies & Munchies and the Weekly Menu
An Enchanted mixture of Spiced Rum and Apple Juice with a touch of grenadine for color. Rimmed with edible gold glitter and garnished with thin slices of apple. This fun cocktail is perfect for your adult Halloween gathering.
Cheers!! It is Friday night and time for Cocktails. I call the drink I am sharing with you tonight an Enchanted Poison Apple as it was inspired by the Disney movie "Enchanted" our Movies & Munchies film for this Halloween month.
This film combines animation with live-action for an Enchanted visit into the world of Giselle (Amy Adams) who finds herself banished to NYC from her fairy-tale land of Andulasia by the evil queen (Susan Sarandon) in an attempt to keep Giselle from a relationship with her son, Prince Edward (James Marsden).
The first person she meets in NYC who will give her the time of day is a single father and divorce lawyer, Robert (Patrick Dempsey). In typical Disney fashion there is a precocious, adorable child (Rae Covey) and a fiancee with whom the child is not smitten.
This is a fun, if predictable movie that combines Cinderella, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty into one Princess named Giselle who is followed to NYC by the Prince and the Evil Queen's admirer who is sent to stop the princess by feeding her a poisoned apple.
When we were done watching the movie I asked Frank to create a cocktail to share with my readers based on the Poisoned Apple Cocktail shown in the film. We ended up with this perfect drink to enjoy for Halloween or any fall evening sitting around the bonfire with friends.
This cocktail easily becomes a mocktail by simply adding more juice and deleting the spiced rum. I will be sharing the recipe below, following the Weekly Menu.
In keeping with the Halloween Month theme, tomorrow we are going to the stage play, Young Frankenstein, and then out for dinner following the show.
On Monday, Frank is teaching a CPL class. I will be providing breakfast and lunch for the students. After the class, Frank and Jim will meet me and Sharon for dinner.
Thursday, we are meeting Nicole and Pierre for dinner. Next Saturday we fly out to the East Coast to take a Princess Cruise on a Fall Color Tour. We start in NYC and sail to Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Maine, and Nova Scotia. I'm very excited. This trip has been on my bucket list for a long time.

I swear I didn't look at this post until after I already made my cocktail for the event. But I used vodka and fire ball!!!!!
