The Sunday Funday Bloggers are celebrating Oktoberfest this week........

Sue of Palatable Pastime advised us that Oktoberfest started in Munich yesterday and runs until the 3rd of October.  She invited us to join her in celebrating this beer fest.

Let's see what everyone brought to the party................

We are in the middle of a kitchen remodel here on the farm so I was looking for something easy that I could cook outside on the grill or using one of my multicookers that I have set up in my dining area.

When I saw this recipe in Taste of Home, I knew that I had found the answer.  It takes only one bowl to prepare and then the casserole could go right into my Breyville Smart Oven.  It has all the flavors my family loves and it was easily reduced to 6 servings allowing it to do double duty as dinner one night and lunch the following day for our household of 3.

I won't be having an Oktoberfest gathering this year due to the remodel and the fact that we are leaving for vacation and won't be home until the festival is over.  I'm a little disappointed because I love celebrating different cultures with dinner parties.

If you enjoy doing so too, you might want to check out some of my past recipes for dinner ideas.  This Cheese Fondue makes a great starter to the party.  A Bavarian Pot Roast would make a perfect entree or if you want to stay more casual, how about Bierocks.  Finally, this Apfelpfannkuchen  would make a wonderful dessert topped with a scoop of ice cream.

Or you can always double this recipe that I am sharing, pour some German Beers and enjoy the party.

    1. I love it so much Karen that my new ovens are smart ovens as well. They even have a sous vide feature. Can't wait to try it.

  3. Is it the cooked brats or raw brats? Would sauerkraut from a can or a jar work in place of the refrigerated kind if I can't find that here in small town Arkansas? LOL

    1. Hi Jinjer. Smoked, fully cooked bratwurst is used in this recipe. Canned Sauerkraut would work just as well. Hope you enjoy it.
