There is a family owned business, Blakes, in a neighboring town that we have watched grow from a U Pick Farm Stand to a huge business on three different sites. Still offering U Pick fruits and vegetables to now include all seasons with Haunted Hayrides, Winter Sleighrides, Playscapes, Petting Farms, Festivals, Restaurants and Stores. I have linked to their website if you would like to learn more about them.
It is about a 30 minute drive for us to go and every once in a while Frank will take me there for lunch. They have delicious, artisinal dishes, handcrafted hard ciders and wines, relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff.
One of my favorite things to order is their grilled Brie sandwich. When we went on a lunchdate last week, I was disappointed that the grilled Brie wasn't on the menu. They did have a Ciabatta BLT that I ordered and loved but I was so looking forward to the grilled Brie that before we left I picked up a jar of their blueberry jam and then stopped at Costco on the way home for some Brie and Ciabatta.
Our neighbors loved it so much that we have planned an outing for a Blakes Lunch Date for next week. I can't wait!!!

ReplyDeleteYou can always make your own Jules.
DeleteI love brie sandwiches. Newer tried a blueberry one. I do notice places that serve French food are few and far between. It's disappointing. I wish there were more left.
