Arrrrgh Matey....It's a Pirate Bite Wine and Food Pairing

People in pirate costumes
We had such a great time last night with our friends Bob and Cathy.  If you are regular readers you might remember that Bob and Cathy live in Houghton Lake about a 3 hour drive north of us.  We join them several times a year for wine and food pairing dinners held at Springbrook Inn in the neighboring town of Prudenville.

Place setting at dinner party

It's been a while since we were last able to attend as the past couple have been canceled due to the pandemic.  The owner decided to have two back to back Pirate Bite Wine and Food Pairing on Sunday and last night so that social distancing standards could be accommodated.

Halloween decorations

As always, the place settings and decorations were only outdone by the food and wine that was served.  These dinners are always amazing.  If you want to see past dinners you can check out the Snowflake Wine Pairing, Sparkle and Shine Dinner, and Korks and Kisses.

These are the courses we were served and the wines paired with each.  My favorite of the evening was the pairing of the Shrimp Fettucine with the Chloe Pinot Grigio.  They played off perfectly together.  My favorite wine of the night was the Decoy Cabernet Sauvignon.  I bought 6 bottles to enjoy at home.

Menu

It was an amazing dinner with great friends.  The next time we are scheduled to get together is on December 7th when we are attending a Caymus Wine Tasting Event at the Detroit Fish Company in our neck of the woods.
