C is for Cider Glazed Chicken Wings

These Cider Glazed Wings will be a great addition to your appetizer buffet if you are hosting a Super Bowl party, bringing a dish to a potluck, or just enjoying the game by yourself at home.

Cider Glazed Wings

C is for Chicken and Cider......

Some of us are working our way through the alphabet for 2025.  We get together and post recipes that contain an ingredient or start with the next letter of the alphabet every other Wednesday.  This week's letter is C.....

Cider Glazed Chicken Wings

These wings are only lightly spiced as my husband is heat-sensitive.  Feel free to add some siracha or your favorite hot sauce in the marinade/glaze.

Last year I celebrated the Letter C with Chicken Pastina Soup.

Cider Glazed Chicken Wings

These Cider Glazed Wings will be a great addition to your appetizer buffet if you are hosting a Super Bowl party, bringing a dish to a potluck, or just enjoying the game by yourself at home.
Prep time: 5 MinCook time: 35 MinTotal time: 40 Min

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. chicken drummettes and flats
  • 1/2 T. smoked paprika
  • 1 t. ground mustard
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 c. apple juice or cider
  • 1/4 c. cider vinegar
  • 1 T. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 T. hot honey mustard

Instructions

  1. Toss the wings with the paprika, ground mustard, salt, and pepper. Cover and refrigerate for a couple of hours.
  2. Spray a large baking sheet liberally with cooking spray. Place the wing pieces onto the baking tray and place into a preheated 450* oven for 15 minutes, flip the wings, turn the baking sheet and cook for another 15 minutes.
  3. While wings are baking, combine the juice or cider, vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce in a small saucepan. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to a simmer. Cook until reduced by half, about 10 minutes. Stir in the hot honey mustard and set aside.
  5. Brush 1/2 of the sauce onto the wings and place under the broiler for a minute or two, until browned. Transfer the remaining sauce to a large bowl. Remove the wings from the oven, toss in the remaining sauce, and serve.

  1. What I like about this chicken recipe is that it is baked and easy to make. Definitely a recipe that my hubby and son can make for themselves.
