Italy, Day 16-Food Trucks and Wine Widows

We got to sleep in for our last day in Italy.  We had a leisurely morning before our driver arrived to take us into Florence.  We checked into a breathtakingly beautiful hotel, Palazzo Guicciardini, and then headed out to explore Florence on our own.

The Fresco on the upper right of the collage was on the ceiling above our bed.  The room was the most beautiful of all the places we stayed, but our bed was very uncomfortable.

Bob, Cathy, Frank, and I had watched an episode of Tucci in Italy that featured a food truck serving a fourth stomach sandwich.  We were walking and discussing that episode, and wondering where the food truck was located.  We came out of an alley, into a courtyard, and voila....there it was!!

We ordered up two sandwiches for the 6 of us to share.  The meat was melt-in-your-mouth delicious on homemade ciabatta buns slathered with the most amazing sauce.  I thought the sauce made the sandwich.

We had an early dinner as we had to get up at 3 am to head to the airport.  We found a wine window open a couple of doors down from our hotel as we were returning.  Of course, we couldn't pass up that opportunity!!

It was the perfect ending to a wonderful vacation.
