We were up bright and early again to take the one-hour bus trip to Florence for a guided walking tour of the city.
Florence, home to the Renaissance era, is filled with sculptures and works of art. It is a bustling, busy city with store-lined streets and vendors set up in the square.
There are also some modern pieces located throughout the city, and a carousel in the center of the square. After the tours we had lunch and shopped a bit, then we stopped for refreshments at Paszkowski, a cafe on the square.
This cafe was opened by a Polish company in 1903 and has been an icon since. We sat on the terrace and enjoyed music, people-watching, and cocktails. I ordered their signature bottled cocktail, a gin concoction with floral and bitter notes.
We stopped as a group on the way back to the hotel, at a pizza restaurant, known to our driver. We enjoyed several different types of pizza and wine as we all reminisced about our Collette Tour that was coming to an end.
I was feeling better and was able to enjoy the room we were assigned in the villa. This was a very nice hotel.
