I asked the other Movies & Munchies group members to join me this month to watch the Christmas Classic, Elf. I love this movie and we watch it each year. This year, I was excited to attend Elf, The Musical at the gorgeous Fox Theatre in Detroit
I was next to join in the fun. This was the first time I had watched the film with my foodie glasses on and I was surprised that there is quite a bit from which to choose.
"The bowl of soup that Jovie (played by Zooey Deschanel) is eating when she sees Buddy (Will Ferrell) on the news in Central Park, with the news banner 'Holiday Hijinx', inspired this dish..."
"I know it’s a weird combo with the Asian flavors, the pickled peppers, and the gorgonzola. But, is it really any weirder than Buddy’s spaghetti concoction with marshmallows, sprinkles, M&Ms, Pop Tarts, and Hershey’s syrup? If you still think so, leave out the cheese."
Leave out the blue cheese? Not a chance....
Terri of Our Good Life came in the day after Thanksgiving to offer us a recipe for this scrumptious-looking Peanut Butter Fudge that takes only two ingredients!!
"As we celebrate the magic of "Elf," let us carry its spirit into our lives, spreading cheer and kindness just like Buddy. With every morsel of fudge, we can relish in the joy of the season and the beauty of believing in the extraordinary."
I agree with Terri that this recipe is so easy you could let the grandkids make it. I know what we're doing the next time the Angel Face and Little Miss M visit.
Amy of Amy's Cooking Adventures joined us and shared this wonderful idea for making Snow Globe Glasses. I
"The obvious food inspirations are candy, syrup, and spaghetti, but I was inspired by the snow globe scene instead when Buddy learned about New York City."
I can't wait to serve up some Christmas Cheer in these gorgeous glasses. My friends will be so impressed!! Thank you, Amy.
