What is a xylocarp? It is a fruit with a hard woody shell. The best-known xylocarp is a coconut. And the best way to enjoy coconut? In a Pina Colada, of course.
With just 3 ingredients, some ice, and a heavy-duty blender you can enjoy an Xciting Xylocarp Cocktail.....

All of that research made me powerful thirsty. I had all the ingredients I needed for this cocktail and had not yet shared it with you. It's not very seasonal at the moment but I am having a Tropical-themed Friendsgiving on Friday so there is that. Not to mention that they celebrate the Holidays on the Islands too.....So, Cheers!!

Wendy, that is smart. Who would have thought of using scientific name for an ingredient. As for the frozen Pina Colada, don't mind having one right away, though it is cold outside.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's getting colder here too. Perhaps that's why I'm dreaming of the tropics.
DeleteGreat use of the letter "X!" And of course you have to do a dry run of the cocktail before your get together for scientific purposes!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Karen.
DeleteNow this is a Z recipe I can get down with! I'll take two please!!! Or maybe three!!!
ReplyDeleteI see that now that X is over...Z is on your mind LOL
DeleteI had no idea what a xylocarp was. Thanks for teaching me something and giving me a great new cocktail recipe.
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure Cam. Cheers.
Delete♫ Give me two xylocarp cocktails, one for each hand ♫ I've always made them from a mixer but I'm sure from scratch is way better!
ReplyDeleteCheers Jolene.....
DeleteI am a sucker for blended drinks! Never actually made a pina colada before, need to try it out.
ReplyDeleteSo easy Kelly. Cheers.
DeleteI've learned so much from these X recipe posts, not the least of which is that coconuts are xylocarps! Who knew? I adore piña coladas and yours looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThank you Stacy. It was a fun challenge.
DeleteThis looks delicious, never knew xylocarp is coconut!
ReplyDeleteNor did I but it was a very happy discovery.
