This easy peasy tart comes together in a snap.  It is fun to serve and wonderfully delicious.

I put this together one day on a whim as a surprise for my family after dinner.  I don't normally serve dessert unless we are entertaining.  With desserts this easy and delicious that could change.

Rustic Pear and Almond Tart

This easy peasy tart comes together in a snap. It is fun to serve and wonderfully delicious.
prep time: 5 Mcook time: 20 Mtotal time: 25 M

ingredients:

  • 1 single pie crust
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 3 T. flour
  • 3/4 t. cardamom
  • 4 medium, ripe pears, peeled cored and sliced
  • 3 T. sliced almonds

instructions:

How to cook Rustic Pear and Almond Tart

  1. Roll the pie dough into a 10" round and place onto a baking sheet that is covered in parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Combine the pear slices, sugar, flour and cardamom.  Toss to coat and then spoon onto the crust leaving a 2" edge all around.
  3. Fold the edge up and around the pears leaving the center open.  
  4. Bake in a preheated 450* oven for 15 minutes.  Sprinkle the almonds over the opening of the tart and place back in the oven for another 5 minutes.  

NOTES:

  2. All those pear dishes do indeed sound tempting! Last night we were treated to a beautiful tart made from wine-infused pears. I recently made a balsamic pear salad with romaine, dried fruit-nut mixture, and a bit of soft cheese. So many possibilities!
