Pears and Dairy
- 1 small or 1/2 large pear, cored and diced
- dash of cardamom
- 1 1/2 T. brown sugar
- 2 oz. brie cheese
- 1 container refrigerated crescent rolls
- Place the pear, cardamom and brown sugar in a small sauce pan over med heat. Cook, stirring occasionally until the pears are fork tender but still hold their shape, 4-5 minutes. Transfer to a small bowl to cool.
- Slice the brie cheese into 8 equal pieces, set aside.
- Unroll the crescent rolls and separate at seams. Place a piece of brie and 4-5 pieces of pear onto the wide end of the crescent rolls. Roll up, tucking the ends and pinching shut with your fingers. Place onto a baking sheet and bake in a preheated 350* oven for 15-18 minutes, until golden brown. Let rest for a few minutes before taking a bite.
Additionally, these are easy peasy to make as well. Chop up a pear and put it in a pan with a smidge of cardamom and a little brown sugar and let them cook until fork tender but still retaining their shape.Pop open a container of refrigerated crescent rolls and place some cheese and the cooled, caramelized pear chunks onto the wide end.Wrap them up into tidy little packages. They won't look like crescents because you want to seal all the gooey and juicy goodness inside.Pop em in the oven and in 15 minutes you have an easy peasy appetizer that will make your guests swoon. What is your favorite go to appetizer recipe?
