We will be back on Friday to share our final recipes. I have an easy peasy Christmas Pear Cake that I can't wait to tell you about!!
Each year, when I was growing up, we would have a birthday cake on Christmas and sing Happy Birthday to Jesus. This tradition was started by my Mom and we all looked forward to it each year. When we started having children of our own (nearly 30 grandkids), they too looked forward to it.
I have taken up the reins and continued the annual Dubrul Christmas Gathering and all the great-grandkids, some of whom are adults now, all look forward to singing Happy Birthday to Jesus. I just sent out the invitations for this year's gathering and have asked Santa to join us. We have a good number of littles still with our youngest having just celebrated his 1st birthday.
Last year I was recuperating from being smashed by a truck so we did not have our party. This year I am up to entertaining 50 people and looking forward to having my family gather again.
These blondies are delicious by themselves but I add cream cheese frosting and some glitter to make them a little more festive. You can make them your own with whatever garnishes and decorations are appropriate for your Holiday of choice.

I have both in my pantry! These may be going to work on Monday. I have to bake and take or I wind up eating it all.
ReplyDeleteI know...now that I'm retired that is a huge problem around here.
