How we are staying warm and the Weekly Menu

We are in the middle of a deep freeze here in Michigan and in many of the surrounding States.

Image result for forecast for 48001

The temps are expected to fall into the single digits this week so I will be serving up lots of warm, delicious, comfort foods.........

Last night, the teen spent the night at a friends.  Frank and I went out to dinner.  I think this was the first dinner out alone since August. It was very nice to be able to relax and reconnect.

No plans for tonight but tomorrow is a busy day.  Mass in the morning, followed by Confirmation calls for Marissa and then a visit with Marissa's sister in the afternoon.  We were going to go to an outdoor rink ice skating but moved the plans to an indoor venue when the forecast came out.  We will meet for a late lunch before skating and dinner will be in the crockpot waiting for us to return.

The rest of the week will find us cuddled up in front of the fire place when not running the usual errands.  Sibling counseling on Monday.  Food pantry, voice lessons and guitar lessons on Wednesday, choir on Thursday, Dr. appt on Friday.

So here is the weekly menu.  Please stop by each day as I share A Day in the Life on the Farm.....

Soup Saturday
Cornbread

Sunday Supper
Biscuits

Meatless Monday
Sweet Potato Gnocchi
Salad

Taco Tuesday
Chili Burritos (using leftovers from Saturday)

Wednesday
Out for dinner between voice and guitar lessons

Thursday
Shepherd's Pie

Fish Friday
Lobster Thermidor
Baked Potatoes
Steamed Brocolli

    1. Hi, Unfortunately that photo that you see with our Golden and our Golden Chow mix is an old one. They have both been gone now for several years. The Golden was 12 when he got cancer. The Chow mix was about 10 when she became ill. We currently have 4 dogs. Bella is about 8 yrs old. She is a lab mix. We have two litter mates about soon to be 4, Shadow and Sherman, whose mother was a lab/border collie and it appears they had different fathers as one is shaped like a corgi while the other is built like a whippet. These three are rescues. The baby is a Chocolate Lab, Cocoa, she is 2 1/2. They are all spoiled rotten.
