Garlic and Pineapple Glazed Ham #NationalGarlicDay

This ham is crusted with crushed pineapple, garlic and honey before being baked for a unique and different Island Style dinner.

Garlic and Pineapple Glazed Ham

I served this up last November for an Island Style Friendsgiving Dinner with our Dive Family. I got so caught up in the festivities that I forgot to take photos until after dinner.  You can see, by the large dent in the ham, that it was a big hit......
I entertain a lot during the months of November and December and don't always have time to share all the recipes that I create and serve during the holiday season.  So they go into an archive until I can get to them.

Ham

When my friend Jolene, of Jolene's Recipe Journal, invited the Festive Foodies to celebrate National Garlic Day with her, I knew that this ham was perfect for the event.

Let's take a look at what the others are sharing for this National Food Holiday........

This ham could be glazed and cooked on a gas grill outdoors for a Summertime Island Style gathering as well.  I, for one, am very anxious for summer to arrive.

    Garlic and Pineapple Glazed Ham

This ham is crusted with crushed pineapple, garlic and honey before being baked for a unique and different Island Style dinner.
    Prep time: 10 MinCook time: 2 H & 30 MTotal time: 2 H & 40 M

    Ingredients

    • 1 (6-8 lb) spiral sliced ham
    • 1 fresh pineapple, peeled and cored
    • 1/4 c. honey
    • 10 cloves garlic
    • 1/2 t. crushed red pepper flakes

    Instructions

    1. Discard any seasoning packet that may have been included with your spiral ham. Line a large roaster with aluminum foil and place ham onto a rack placed inside the roaster. Bake in a preheated 325* oven for about an hour and a half
    2. Meanwhile, place the pineapple, peeled garlic cloves, honey and red pepper flakes into the bowl of a food processor and pulse several times until pureed.
    3. Remove the roaster from the oven and slather the ham, on top and in-between the slices with the garlic pineapple puree. Return the ham to the oven for another hour to set the glaze.

    1. I bet you can't wait for summer what with all of the new snow! Love this ham. Smart to save the photos and recipes for events like this.

      1. I have a ton of recipes archived Karen. I can't write all the food that I make, it's crazy. There are so many events that I rarely have time to just blog what I made for dinner.
