An Assortment of Appetizers with a California Champagne for #WinePW

This past Saturday we hosted Frank's work party.  We started the party with an appetizer buffet and drinks.

What goes better with an assortment of appetizers than a nice bottle of bubbly?  Nothing that I can think of so it was a perfect opportunity to join in with this month's Wine Pairing Weekend.  To help us celebrate the holidays, Cindy of Grape Experiences invited us to join her in sharing Sparkling Wine and Festive Dishes.

I offered up a Korbel California Champagne.  Korbel is a dry sparkling wine that is reasonably priced and goes well with a variety of appetizers.  I offered up a Savory Pesto Cheesecake, some smoked salmon, a Jalapeno Cheese Dip, assorted olives, Cocktail Onions, cheese, sausage, fruit and crackers.

We poured some Champagne, made some cocktails and had people help themselves.  I helped myself to a glass of bubbly and some of the Savory Cheesecake on crackers.  It was a great start to a wonderful evening.

Here are the other Sparkling Wine and Festive Dishes served up this month.

  6. Bubbly is always a festive way to "turn it up" Wendy. I think Korbel is the only California producer that is allowed to use the word "Champagne" with their wines. Cheers!

    1. I was surprised when it was labeled Champagne Martin. I have been too busy with Mom to be able to research as to why.
