Garlic Puffs #BakingBloggers

Flaky, tender puffed pastry rounds filled with garlicky goodness.

The Baking Bloggers are keeping away all the Vampires this month with a great selection of goodies featuring Garlic.  Please join us........
My friend, Sue, of Palatable Pastime asked the members of Baking Bloggers to join her this month baking up recipes that have Garlic as the star ingredient.

I had just ordered up some Ghee from Farm True.  Farm True is owned by my friend, Kris', sister.  The company specializes in Ayurvedic Healing Products and Services.  They are located in Connecticut.  When I went over to Kris' to pick up my order she gifted me a jar of the garlic flavored ghee and a jar of the chai ghee.  I used the garlic flavored ghee for today's recipe.

This is an easy peasy recipe.  If you don't have garlic flavored ghee just add extra garlic or some garlic powder when making the paste.  If you don't have ghee you can use olive oil.  I used an Italian Herb mix in the paste.  You can add any herbs that you like.

Let's see what the others have baked up to share with us today.

Flaky, tender puffed pastry rounds filled with garlicky goodness.

ingredients:

1 sheet frozen puffed pastry, thawed
2 T. ghee (I used garlic flavored), melted or olive oil
2-3 cloves garlic, minced
1 t. dried Italian Herb mix (or your favorite herbs)
2 T. grated parmesan cheese

instructions:

Thaw and roll out the puffed pastry per package directions.

Combine the ghee, garlic, herbs and cheese to form a paste.

Spread over the puffed pastry sheet and roll up from the long side making a tube.  Using a sharp knife, trim the ends and then cut into 8 equal slices.

Place onto a baking sheet, brush with additional ghee or olive oil, if desired.  Bake in a preheated 450* oven until puffed and golden brown, 20-25 minutes.
