Maple Bourbon Smash #SundayFunday

Cheers!!!  We are celebrating the birth of our first grandson, Milan, who was born yesterday morning at 6:45 AM.  When we got back from the hospital, Frank made us each a Maple Bourbon Smash to commemorate this momentous day.

Maple Bourbon Smash

We chose this particular cocktail because the Sunday Funday Bloggers are preparing to celebrate Maple Syrup Saturday on March 21st.......

Camilla of Culinary Cam asked us to share some creative recipes featuring Maple Syrup.  I had intended to make a pie, but then Milan decided it was his time to enter the world and demand all the time and attention I had.

When we got home, Frank asked if I would like a drink.  Knowing I had this event today, I did a quick Google search for drinks with maple syrup and found this one from Food & Wine.

Let's see what the others are serving up with Maple Syrup.......

This variation on a classic Old Fashioned pairs Bourbon with Maple Syrup.  It was the perfect cocktail with which to welcome our new Little Man into our lives.
