A Tucson Recap and the Weekly Menu as we hit the ground running

We had a great time in Tucson.  The weather was perfect, and the company even better.  We spent 5 lovely days catching up with our friends and enjoying the sunshine.

Tucson, Arizona

Day 1:  no photos but great memories.  Rob and Linda picked us up at the airport, and we stopped for dinner at Zyka Twist, an Indian restaurant right near the airport.  We had a lovely dinner, and then sat poolside when we got home, and caught up on our lives since they visited us in August last year.

Tucson-Day 2
Day 2: The next morning, I got up early and went for a walk in the Rita Ranch Purple Heart Park, accessible through a gate in their backyard.  Frank awoke with a cold, so we made a quick trip to the drugstore, then went to Sprouts and a French Bakery.  We spent the afternoon lounging in the pool before going to dinner at SA-ING THAI, a wonderful restaurant owned by their friend Andy.

Tucson-Day 3
Day 3: Another morning walk before heading to a Brewery in Marana, where we met our friends, Jim and Cathy, for lunch.  Another soak in the pool in the afternoon before attending a fun play and enjoying pizza at the Gaslight Theater.

Saguaro National Park
Day 4: After my morning walk, Frank made us all breakfast sandwiches.  We went to Saguaro National Park.  It is an amazing park, and I learned a lot about the flora and fauna in this part of the country. We then had a late lunch at Dos Hermanos.  We had a quiet afternoon, visiting and relaxing, before a dinner of leftovers from all the restaurants we've been visiting.

Tombstone

Day 5: We spent the day at Tombstone, where we did some sightseeing, shopping, and took in a re-enactment of the shootout at the OK Corral.  We stopped for an ice cream on the way home, quickly changed, and went to a wonderful Italian restaurant for dinner to celebrate the birthday of Rob and Linda's friend, Karen.

Day 6: Heading home today. We took Rob and Linda out for breakfast on the way to the airport. Our flight is scheduled to land in Detroit around 10:30 PM.  Anxious to get home because my Little Man is due to come into the world on March 13th, but may decide to pop out early.

Home Sweet Home.  It was strange walking in the door last night and only being greeted by 3 pups.  The loss of Shadow is now a reality.  We have also received some very disturbing news.  It seems that one of the multiple problems that Shadow had was heartworms.  We will be calling today to schedule appointments for the remaining dogs to be tested.

Tonight we are heading to the Fisher Theater for The Outsiders and will have dinner before the show.  Tomorrow night, I am attending a Little Black Dress fundraiser for Cancer with the ladies from my Dive Family.  Saturday night, we have a wine pairing dinner at Morton's Steakhouse with the Luths, and on Sunday, we are celebrating the Pryryt's 25th wedding anniversary at the White Horse Inn.

On Monday, things slow down.  I am happy to be sharing our Weekly Menu and spending some quiet nights at home.
