Yesterday morning, we celebrated the life of our dear friend and choir member, Eleanor, who passed to eternal life last week at one hundred and one and a half years old. Eleanor had attended our Christmas choir gathering in December and was still singing with us just 2 weeks ago. She was an amazing lady, and she will be missed.
After the funeral Mass, we were all invited to celebrate Eleanor's life at a luncheon held in the hall my father and Eleanor's husband had helped build as fellow Knights of Columbus.
Yesterday evening, we took our second daughter, Nicole, and her husband, Pierre, out for dinner to celebrate her birthday, which is Saturday. We went downtown to a Lebanese Restaurant called Leila's, which had been listed among the top 20 restaurants in Detroit in an article Frank had read last month.
It is a very nice restaurant. Very trendy in style, with an authentic Lebanese menu that included liquors, beers, and wines produced in Lebanon. Pierre, who is Lebanese, said that it was the best Lebanese food that he has had here, after his mother's, of course.
Frank and I enjoyed our meals, but would have been just as happy at our local Lebanese Grill....except for the cocktails....that were delicious. I had a Fig Finale made with Mezcal, Chili liqueur, lime, and fig jam. It was very pricey and a bit spicy.....but when in Leila's......
The Angel Face and her parents are home from their vacation in Mexico, so we get to see them today and return Peanut, my grand sugarglider, who was in my care during their absence.
Sunday morning, after Mass, we are meeting friends for brunch, then we will stop to pick up Little Miss M, who is spending the day with us while her Mama and Daddy attend a concert.
The week is pretty typical...exercise class in the mornings, doctor and dentist appointments in the afternoon, and quiet evenings. Here is what we're eating this week.....
