Our day started early with a trip across town to the marina where we boarded a boat and headed to the Isle of Capri.
It was a quick and beautiful trip over. Our captain and deckhand were friendly and informative, explaining that it was better to tour the Capri and Anacapri first, and then we would have a boat tour around the Island afterward.
They also suggested the chair lift to the top of the Island before it got too warm. So we hopped in the shuttle and started our land tour in Anacapri. Frank chose to sit out, so he took photos as we began our ascent and then relaxed in the bar until we returned. The queue was about 25 minutes long, but we finally got through and were on our way.
This is the view I enjoyed while traveling to the top. This was about the halfway point. It was so silent and relaxing, and, as you can see, breathtaking.
The view from the top was astounding. It was well worth the wait in line. It took 13 minutes to travel up. We walked around up top for 15 minutes or so, and then took the 13-minute ride back down to town, where we met Frank for Limoncello Spritz and lunch.
We took the shuttle back into Capri. The Piazza was very crowded, and I am not much of a shopper, so we bypassed the area, hopped on another shuttle, and headed back to the wharf area where we enjoyed some gelato.
We got back on the boat for the water tour around the island, where we were greeted with Prosseco and/or beer. First stop.....a swim in the Med.
After our dip in the sea, we toured around the island, seeing the grottos, the second-largest lighthouse in Italy, and rock formations. Legend has it that kissing near the arch means love that will last forever.
I want to ensure I keep this guy around for the rest of our lives.
