Turkey poults are very different from meat chickens and even laying hen chicks. Turkeys are very curious and friendly. They run to you instead of away from you. Raising turkeys is one of my joys each year. They follow me around the yard and will come up to the doorwall looking for me when I am inside and they are roaming. I thought you might enjoy this video of Frank getting to know his brood.

Awww!!
ReplyDeleteYes they are cute but they will be very stinky and dirty by Thanksgiving so that you are ready to have them out of your yard and into your freezer.
DeleteAwwww how sweet! I loved watching Frank give each of them their special attention! And they don't know yet that you'll EAT them. LOL
ReplyDeleteI know and they stay friendly and lovable like that right to the end. Our friend, Kurt, slaughtered them for us the first couple of years. He said it was kind of hard to do after they jump into your arms for attention.
DeleteFun video - thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by to see it Christy.
DeleteVery cute, never saw live ones before. Hard indeed to get them to the table later.
ReplyDeleteBut they are the best tasting turkeys you will ever eat Evelyne.
