Enjoying the Enlarged Deck with a Good Book and a Glass of Blue Mango Sun Tea from Adagio Teas #Sponsor

We spent a couple of weeks enlarging our deck before Memorial Day.  I was very happy when it was done and I could relax and enjoy it.
Book and Blue tea on deck

I had received some wonderful sponsor gifts from Adagio Teas including the pitcher that you see in this photo and some Blue Mango Iced Tea that is being released for sale today.  I placed a pouch into the pitcher, filled it with cold water and set it out in the sun for a few hours.

When I was done with my chores and ready to relax I grabbed a glass of ice, my book and went out to enjoy the sunshine.  Look at that beautiful blue tea!!  I did not add any sweetner as I prefer my iced tea unsweet.  This tea was so flavorful and delicious even if I preferred sweet tea I might leave the sweetner out.  But hey, you do whatever you would like.....I passed around honey when I served it to guests.

You can find this amazing Blue Mango Tea at the link to Adagio Tea above and there is even a coupon available to save you some money.  While I am so very happy that Adagio asked me to sample their products, be assured that all opinions, writings and ideas are completely my own and 100% truthful.

Around the World in 80 Dinners

I also finished a book that was sent to me by my friend Cam of Culinary Adventures with Camilla.  Actually she sent me a huge assortment of books that she had read and thought I might enjoy.  This one, Around in 80 Dinners, follows Cheryl and Bill Jamison as they travel to 10 countries in 3 months.  The reader gets to enjoy all of their adventures which mainly center around trying to find food authentic to the areas they visit. It seems that most restaurants that cater to the tourist trade also "Americanize" their food to suit our palates.

I enjoyed my travels with Cheryl and Bill.  They made me wish I was actually with them in person instead of just through the page.  Each section tells about their advenures in a certain country or area and then shares a recipe from one of the restaurants at which they ate.

I will be linking up to Foodies Read where you can see what everyone is reading about this month.

There is really no recipe for sun tea but I do have some advice.  Use high quality tea.  You get a lot of bang for your buck here, it doesn't take much to make a full pitcher to enjoy.  Start with cold water and let it warm up in the sun to steep the tea.  If you do want to add sweetner I would use honey or a simple syrup since the tea will not be hot enough to dissolve the sugar completely.

My last bit of advice.....find a good book and a quiet corner of the yard and take time to allow yourself a moment to breathe..........

  1. It's amazing that the authors of your book found it hard to locate "authentic" food for the places they traveled to. I wonder if they had preconceived notions about what natives "should" eat, instead of realizing how globalization has changed food ways around the globe. Yes, people almost everywhere now DO like McDonalds in some form or another. I've read other reviews of that book, don't think I'll get a copy!

  2. I would love to make sun tea today as I took the day off work to spend with R. But, alas, no sun yet on the foggy central coast of California. Boo. Glad you enjoyed the book!

    1. I think the blue was from the Butterfly Pea Flower. All I know is that it is delicious.
