I live in the great state of Michigan, where we have a very close relationship with our neighbors, less than a mile across the river from us.  My father was French Canadian and very likely had ancestors in Quebec when this dish was born.

This semi-homemade recipe starts with frozen French fries and jarred gravy.  It is ready in 15 minutes.  We had it as a stand-alone light meal, but they are great with sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, or chicken strips, too.

    1. Yes, I imagine Cheese curds are not as available in your neck of the woods. They are quite popular by us.

  3. I grew up around dairy country, so I've always loved cheese curds, and now they are so much more readily available around here on the west coast. What's funny is that poutine is also readily available and I've still never tried it! I mean what could be better?? Potatoes, cheese and gravy!!
