These pears, made in a slow cooker, make your house smell delicious and free you up for prepping and serving dinner without having to worry about dessert. When ready to serve place in a bowl and add a scoop of ice cream. Life doesn't get much easier or more delicious than that.
For this recipe I used Butterscotch Pears provided by Melissa's Produce and Cinnamon provided by Selefina Spices. I thought it was fun to use Butterscotch Pears to make Butterscotch Pears LOL.

Slow Cooker Butterscotch Pears
Ingredients
- 3 large, firm pears (I used Butterscotch Pears)
- juice of 1/2 a lemon
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons butter, room temperature
- 2 T. flour
- 1/2 t. cinnamon (I used Selefina)
- pinch of salt
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
- 1/2 c. pear or apple juice
- 2 T. honey
- Vanilla ice cream, if desired
Instructions
- Cut pears in half, lengthwise, and remove any core and seeds.
- Brush the pears with the lemon juice and place them in the bottom of a slow cooker.
- Combine the brown sugar, butter, flour, cinnamon, salt and nuts. Spoon into and onto the pears.
- Add the juice to the slow cooker and drizzle the pears with the honey.
- Cover and cook on low for 4 hours.
- When ready to serve, carefully remove the pears and filling with tongs and place into a bowl with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
