One Pan Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. baking cocoa
- pinch of salt
- 1 t. baking soda
- 1 t. vanilla extract or 1/2 t. vanilla paste
- 1 T. vinegar
- 1/3 c. canola oil
- 1 c. cold water
- Powdered Sugar for sprinkling, if desired
Instructions
- Lightly coat a 9" square baking pan with cooking spray.
- Place the flour, sugar, cocoa, salt and baking soda into the pan and use a whisk or spatula to combine.
- Add the vanilla, vinegar, oil and water to the dry ingredients and mix until combined, paying extra attention to get all the dry ingredients from the corners moistened.
- Bake in a preheated 350* oven for about 30 minutes, until a skewer inserted removes cleanly.
- Let cool in pan and then sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.
