The Winophiles are here to help you get ready to celebrate Rosé Day on June 14th. We will be sharing reviews of French Rosé Wines, and some of us are sharing the meals with which we paired them.
I am a big fan of Gerard Bertrand and his wines. I first shared Bertrand's story in a post in 2019. In this post, I reviewed a bottle of Cigalus that I paired with Alfredo.
I also shared a review of Hampton Waters Rosé, a collaboration between Bertrand and rockstar, Jon Bon Jovi. We have also enjoyed an Oriane Rosé from Bertrand with Roasted Lobster and a Curry Dipping Sauce, and I paired this same wine that I am sharing today in 2019 with a Caramelized Onion Cream Soup.
Bertrand also makes lovely red wines. I preferred his Minervois, when I did a comparison with a Corbieres from the same area.
I also loved Bertrand's Picpoul with Oysters on the Half Shell. Suffice it to say that I am a big fan of Gerard Bertrand. I know that if his name is on a bottle of wine, I am going to be happy with the contents. I especially love this Cote des Rosé blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Cinsault. It is a steal at under $20 making it my go-to summer wine for sipping in the pool and enjoying with summer salads like this delicious Lemony Shrimp Salad I'm sharing with you today.
The wine paired nicely with the salad, especially with a bite of the creamy avocado and shrimp combination.
Provence is the home to Rosé wines, and France has a plethora of wineries that offer amazing wines. Check out these articles for further information. Special thanks to Deanna of Wineivore for hosting this month.

I'm with you Wendy! Gerard Bertrand is always great quality and often really good pricing! The shrimp sounds delicious with that wine!
ReplyDeleteIt was Robin, thanks.
DeleteI am enjoying the thought of a crisp green salad right now. Yours looks divine. I did the same wine as you!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great wine.
DeleteWow, if that's a simple salad, I'd like to see a fancy salad! I love the Bertrand rosé (and have already enjoyed a bottle this summer), but I wish they would use a lightweight bottle.
ReplyDeleteIt is a pretty hefty bottle but I love the glass stoppers.
DeleteHow cool you keep this wine on hand in the summer! I've had that wine as well and especially like the detail of the rose etched into the bottom of the bottle. The shrimp salad looks so delicious too and just the type of pairing I'd love to have by the pool too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting, Deanna.
