Welcome to the 2022 edition of BBQ Week.  I am so happy to be participating in this years event.  So excited, in fact, that I am joining in the fun even though, as you read this, I am relaxing and enjoying a vacation in Cabo San Lucas.

Luckily, this was not a problem because our host, Christie of A Kitchen Hoor's Adventures is uber organized and makes participating very easy. I was able to prepare all of my recipes before we left and I will be sharing them with you while I'm sitting at the pool at our resort.  I'm starting off with a Middle-Eastern recipe that you are going to love.

These Beef Kafta were served up as part of a MiddleEastern feast that I served up on the deck along with Shish Tawook and Lebanese Rice.  It was a delicious celebration and a great meal for you to serve up the next time you invite friends for a BBQ.

Beef Kafta

Beef Kafta

Middle Eastern spices mixed with ground beef, parsley and onions before being shaped into logs and grilled to your desired temperature.
Prep time: 10 MinCook time: 10 MinTotal time: 20 Min

Ingredients

Kafta
  • 1 small bunch parsley, stems removed
  • 1 onion
  • 2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1/2 t. allspice
  • 1/2 t. ground coriander
  • 1/2 t. cinnamon
  • dash of cloves
  • dash of cumin
  • dash of nutmeg
  • dash of cayenne
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Place parsley and onion in the bowl of a food processor and pulse until finely chopped. Add the ground beef to the bowl along with all of the spices listed. Pulse two or three times until combined and mixture is pasty.
  2. Form this mixture into 12 logs approximately 1" thick.
  3. Heat a grill to medium high and cook the kafta for 4-5 minutes per side.
