Creamy Garlic Chicken
This delicious dish of pan-seared chicken breasts smothered in a creamy garlic sauce is pure comfort food at it's very best. It can be served over rice, noodles, or mashed potatoes.
Prep time: 10 MinCook time: 20 MinTotal time: 30 Min
Ingredients
- 4 (4-6 oz) boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1/4 c. grated parmesan cheese
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 t. garlic powder
- 1/4 c. olive oil
- 2 T. butter
- 1/2 Vidalia onion, diced
- 6-8 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
- 1 1/4 c chicken broth
- 1 1/4 c. heavy cream
- 5 oz. Boursin cheese (garlic/chive flavor)
Instructions
- Place the flour, parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a plastic bag. Shake to combine. Add the chicken breasts to the bag and shake to coat.
- Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over med-high heat. Remove the chicken from the bag, shaking off any excess flour, and sear on both sides until golden brown and an internal temperature of 165* is reached. Remove to a plate.
- Reduce the heat to medium and add the onion and garlic to the pan. Cook, stirring, until fragrant and softened. Add the broth and bring to a boil, scraping up any browned bits stuck to the bottom of the pan. Cook until reduce by half, about 5 minutes.
- Reduce heat to med-low and stir in the cream and Boursin cheese until melted and creamy. Return the chicken to the pan and warm through turning to coat all sides with the sauce.
