Fall has officially arrived here on the farm in Michigan. The weather is cooler, the leaves are starting to change color. This week the pool will be closed up and the majority of the outdoor furniture will be put into the barn until next season.
I love pumpkin and other hard squash because it is so versatile, easily used and delicious in both sweet and savory dishes. When I asked the other Sunday Funday Bloggers to join me in celebrating National Smoothie Day which happens tomorrow, I knew that my smoothie was going to include pumpkin.

I am in between vacations as I write this on Friday afternoon. We got home from a wonderful dive trip in Curacao early Wednesday morning. We are leaving in a couple of hours to head back to the airport, heading to Atlanta where we will be scuba diving in the Georgia Aquarium with the Whale Sharks.
This is another reason I was happy to learn that Monday is National Smoothie Day. Smoothies are a great way to have a nutritious and delicious meal on the go. Perfect for school and work days or after a morning walk or workout which is exactly what I did.
Vacations are great but I always seem to eat and drink a little bit more than I need and this past week saw my weight creep up a couple of pounds. So I took a nice, long walk this morning and then enjoyed this smoothie while running errands.
