We enjoyed our visit to Jellystone Park in Frankenmuth so much last year that we decided to revisit this year.
Last year, Little Miss M got sick and was unable to join us. The Angel Face had such a good time that she suggested we come back this year so Little Miss M could enjoy it with us. Frank's cousin and her husband also bring their grandkids to this park each year, so we coordinated our visit.

Day 1- The kids hit it off splendidly and took off to enjoy the park while the grandparents set up the campsites. The Grammys joined the kids on a trailer ride through the park, and then it was pool time. The weather has, thankfully, cooled off a bit from the sweltering heat we had been suffering. We walked over to the hot tub and hung out until it was time to start dinner.
The kids went hunting for kindling while the dinner was being prepared. Burgers on the grill, French Fries from the air fryer, and baked beans. After dinner, the Angel Face took charge and built an excellent fire so they could all roast marshmallows. By 9 pm, we were all pretty well spent, and the girls cuddled up as the Angel Face read Little Miss M a bedtime story.
Day 2- The day started out on the Jump Pad. This was followed by a morning of swimming before lunch, and then we went to the foam party, which is always the hit of the week. We rinsed off the bubbles in the pool until dinner time. Dinner was the Teriyaki Steak promised last week with the book review of The Promise Girls.
After dinner, we went to the cafe, where the kids played a color-race game, then had ice cream and a movie. Another long, busy day; we slept like rocks and didn't wake until after 8 am.
Day 3- Friday morning found the girls having popsicles for breakfast. Not to worry, Moms, they are yogurt pops filled with fresh blueberries and granola. A fun, nutritious take on a yogurt bowl. Recipe coming soon to a blog near you.
The morning was spent on the bounce pad and in the pool, where they made new friends with some kids whose family comes to the park every year and rents a cabin. After lunch, the kids took off with their new friends, exploring the area until it was time for games in the park. They got all twisted up and then went into a tangle of strings to try to win some prizes. After dinner, we watched the fire engine parade and walked around to look at all the trucks.
Day 4 - We slept in, had a late breakfast, and then headed into downtown. The girls played some music in the park, enjoyed some bubble tea, and stopped by to meet a couple of owls who live in a sanctuary near here.
Day 5- Lazy morning, slept in. I worked on this post and drank my coffee as the girls watched YouTube. After an hour, we started packing up and had breakfast. The girls went to the playground for one last hurrah while Frank and I buttoned up the camper and got ready to head home.
Today will be spent doing laundry, unpacking the camper, and getting ready for our friends, the Fontaines, to come over for dinner by the pool tomorrow. You might recall that we had to cancel their last planned visit due to the air quality in our area from the Canadian wildfires.
On Friday, we are volunteering at Camp PBJ. This is a camp for Foster Kids that takes place annually. Their goal is to offer a weeklong, fun journey with trained trauma counselors who help children cope with their life situations. This camp was very helpful and important to Marissa when she was in the program, and she now volunteers to work the week-long camp and fundraise throughout the year to ensure its success. We will be there on the last day to help with carnival day.
Frank has a CPL class on Saturday, so I am also planning and including the menu for that. Sunday we are attending Footloose at the Boardwalk Theater, followed by dinner out.

Had a Great Time camping with you guys.
