When Sue of Palatable Pastime asked us to join her in a Holiday Seafood Boil for our Fish Friday group I knew that the Kir Royale would be a great pairing.
I decided to make my shrimp boil using the slow cooker on a day that I was busy in the kitchen making cookies and breads for the holidays. I served the corn on the side as it is not corn season here in Michigan.

Slow Cooker Shrimp Boil
Ingredients
- 1/4 c. old bay seasoning, divided
- 1 1/2 lbs raw shrimp, peeled and deveined, tails removed
- 8 oz. smoked sausage, cut into 2" pieces
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 large vidalia onion, cut into eighths
- 3 lbs baby potatoes, cut in half if large
- juice of 1 lemon
Instructions
- Place the potatoes, onion, garlic, and bay leaf into the crock of a slow cooker. Sprinkle with 2 Tablespoons of the Old Bay Seasoning and add 4 cups of water. Cook on low, covered, for 4 hrs.
- Add the sausage and shrimp to the slow cooker. Sprinkle with remaining Old Bay Seasoning, turn heat to high, cover and cook for 30-45 minutes, until shrimp is pink and sausage is heated through.
