Abadia Retuerta Seleccion Especial is indeed a Special Selection #WorldWineTravel
This lovely bottle of Spanish wine from the Castille and Leon area is a blend of Temperanillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. It is a deep and complex. It would stand up very nicely to a big hunk of grilled steak but I chose to pair it with Balsamic Braised Chicken. I was pleasantly surprised.

Celebrating St. Pat's Day with L'Ecole Cab Franc/Merlot
I was invited to be an ambassador for L'Ecole wines. This means that each month they are providing me with a bottle of wine and a suggested theme for the wine. My end of the bargain is that I taste the wine, do a pairing and give my honest review here on my blog. There is also a zoom meeting each month where we get to learn about the wine we were sent and ask questions of the winemaker. I am a big fan of L'Ecole No 41 and was very excited to join them in this endeavour.

Smoked Beef Brisket, Canvasback Cabernet and the Weekly Menu #WinePW
And just like that.....I suddenly have all kinds of time on my hands. I have been telling all of my readers how busy life is around our house during Lent. I run the Parish Fish Fry each Friday feeding some 300 plus people each week. Prep starts on Wednesday and we work hard until clean up is completed on Saturday.
This past Wednesday I got up early, ran and picked up the perishables for our Food Pantry Distribution, pulled the client files and made the appointments for them to pick up their distribution. Then I headed into the kitchen and began preparing pies and cornbread for our Friday Fish Fry.
I was in the middle of this when I got a phone call from my doctor's office informing me that the Teen had tested positive for COVID and that we all needed to quarantine for 10 days.
