And here it is.....New Year's Eve....the last day of 2023 and the 6th day of Christmas. Time just flies. Eating fortuitous foods to celebrate the New Year is a custom in many cultures to bring us luck throughout the year.
This food need not be extravagant or difficult. It can be as simple as this Easy Cabbage Salad.
Camilla of Culinary Cam is hosting this week and asked us to ring in the New Year with a Fortuitous Feast. This light, crisp, and tangy salad is the perfect side for the other lucky foods being shared today.......

Cabbage Salad
Ingredients
- juice of half a lemon
- 2 T. olive oil
- handful of fresh parsley leaves, chopped
- 1 T. Dijon mustard
- 1 T. honey
- 1 t. garlic powder
- salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 small head cabbage, shredded (about 8 cups)
Instructions
- Place the lemon juice, olive oil, mustard, parsley, garlic powder, honey, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Whisk until emulsified.
- Add the cabbage and toss to coat. Refrigerate until ready to serve, tossing again before serving.
