Chickens, beer, cocktails, beers and steaks, dinner rolls, fruit, coconut, peas, lemon, fish, wine, pirnaha, snakes, honey.
Certainly enough to choose from but nothing that captured the action and excitement of the film, until I remembered the Tiger Cake and decided to pay homage to my favorite member of the cast.
Speaking of cast the film follows Dr. Houghton (Emily Blunt) who hires a skipper (Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson) to take her in search of a tree that has healing properties. As in all family fun action films there are bad guys and goofy obstacles standing in the way and, in true Disney fashion, there is a lovable, adorable pet. In this case, that pet is a tiger.

Tiger Cake
Ingredients
- 4 eggs, separated
- 6 T. sugar, divided
- 1/4 c. canola oil
- 3 T. milk
- 1/2 t. baking powder
- 1/2 c. + 2 T. flour
- Powdered sugar
- 1 (16 oz) pkg. prepared chocolate frosting
- 3 egg yolks
- 3 T. sugar
- 1 T. cornstarch
- 1/2 t. vanilla
- 1 (16 oz) container prepared white frosting.
Instructions
- Beat the egg yolks and 2 Tablespoons of the sugar together until pale yellow and thick. Add the oil, 1 Tablespoon at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in the milk. Sift the flour over and mix well.
- Beat the egg whites until foamy. Gradually add the remaining 4 Tablespoons of sugar, beating until stiff peaks are formed. Fold half of the egg white mixture into the egg yolk mixture. Fold in this mixture to the bowl containing the egg whites.
- Transfer batter to a jelly roll pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray and lined with parchment.
- Bake in a preheated 350* oven for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown and cake springs back when touched.
- Cool in pan on a rack for 20-30 minutes then flip onto a clean kitchen towel that has been dusted with powdered sugar. Peel off the parchment paper.
- When cake is completely cooled, spread with frosting and roll the cake from the short side into a log, leaving wrapped in the towel. Refrigerate while making the chiffon.
- Combine the egg yolks, sugar, cornstarch and vanilla, beating until pale yellow and thick.
- Pour into an 8" cake pan that has been lined with foil or parchment.
- Bake in a preheated 400* oven for 5-10 minutes, watching closely and pulling the chiffon out when desired color is reached. Allow to cool completely.
- Flip chiffon onto a piece of parchment and remove the foil or parchment on the bottom.
- Spread the chiffon with the vanilla frosting, I used about half of the container. Remove the cake roll and unwrap the towel from it. Place onto a serving platter and flip the chiffon onto the cake roll.
