This quick, easy dinner is ready to enjoy in less than half an hour from start to finish.  Make sure to serve some nice crusty bread to soak up this delicious sauce.

Southern Style BBQ Shrimp

Southern Style BBQ Shrimp

Succulent Shrimp Sauteed in butter before being drenched in a Southern Style Sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 t. paprika
  • 1 t. chili powder
  • 1 t. cumin
  • 1 t. sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 lbs. large, raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 6 T. butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 T. Worcestershire sauce
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 T. water

Instructions

  1. Combine the paprika, chile powder, cumin, sugar, and salt. Toss the shrimp in the seasoning to coat completely. Set aside
  2. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the shrimp and the garlic and cook, stirring frequently, until shrimp are mostly pink with slight opaque showing. Add the Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and water. Stir to mix and coat. Continue cooking for another minute or two, until the shrimp are completely pink and plumped.

    1. A perfect recipe for busy nights. I am in Herndon and had every intention of driving by to see your masterpiece but we ended up hopping on the Metro and heading into DC. Neither Amy nor Chuck had been there. We are back now but Chuck started his 3 hour drive home and Amy and I are in our jammies getting rested for our week of hiking.
