Sourdough Grilled Cheese and a Book Review of Gated Prey

Three cheese shredded blend and provolone cheese sandwiched between sourdough and grilled to a melted, gooey goodness.

Sourdough Grilled Cheese

This sandwich was inspired by Gated Prey, the third novel in the Eve Ronin Series.

Gated Prey

In this third book of the series, Eve and her partner, Duncan, are set up as a wealthy couple in a gated community that has been suffering a crime spree.   When the house they are living in is targeted the officer working surveillance has an axe to grind with Eve and delays sending help resulting in a debacle of violence and injury.

As they are acting as a couple, Eve mentions that she makes a mean Sourdough Grilled Cheese.  Duncan, who is ALWAYS hungry is very intrigued by this and excited to give it a try.

I was planning to make homemade sourdough for this sandwich but ended up in the hospital for 3 weeks after getting hit by a truck.  Not quite as impressive as Eve's quick trips in and out of the hospital when suffering multiple injuries but I guess that's why she's the protagonist in this series and I am a mere blogger LOL.

As it turns out, Frank made this sourdough grilled cheese for me while I was recuperating at home.  He has been a rock.  He has taken over all of the household chores, including cooking recipes for this blog and taking photos of his dishes before he serves them to me.  I love that man!!!!

I also love this series.  You can read my review of the first two books, Lost Hills that inspired Cake Mix Donuts and Bone Canyon that inspired Sushi Rolls.  I will be posting my review of the final book of this series very soon.

I am also linking up with Foodies Read.  Please stop by and see what the others are reading this month.

    1. It was a great series to enjoy while taking my walks. I didn't get much reading done while in the hospital, I was either sleeping or working on getting stronger. Now that I'm home I am enjoying reading again but haven't returned to the audible book that I was listening to before the accident.

  2. That sounds delicious...and close to Eve's recipe. She also sprinkles parmesian cheese on the buttered-side of the bread :-)
