The Jack Frosties featuring Prosecco DOCG #ItalianFWT
Happy 2nd Day of Christmas. In our household we celebrate the 12 days of Christmas. We start celebrating the birth of Christ with Advent as we await the birth of Christ. Then we celebrate the birth of our Lord, Jesus, on Christmas and for the following days up until January 6th when we celebrate the Epiphany, also known as Little Christmas, the day the wise men came to pay homage to our Lord.
Our birthday celebration for the Lord started on Christmas Eve when we had our our children from Frank's first marriage over for brunch. Due to the pandemic we separated our celebrations from one large gathering to many small gatherings this year.
It was a wonderful start to our Christmas to be able to gather for food, laughter and love. We popped open a bottle of Prosecco that I had received as a sponsor gift for my Italian Food Wine and Travel group from the Consorzio of Prosecco Superiore DOCG. I love getting gifts from sponsors for tasting purposes but, as always, all opinions and writings are strictly my own.
Unfortunately the wines arrived after our event celebrating Prosecco. I always have Prosecco on hand, however, as it is my first choice when it comes to sparkling wines. In fact, I had ordered one especially for this event prior to knowing that I would be receiving samples. I opened that bottle for the event and posted about it here.
I was planning on making Mimosas for brunch but my sister sent Frank a recipe for this new cocktail called Jack Frosties that featured Prosecco so we decided to give them a try. Nicole popped the bubbly as The Teen looked on and Frank gathered the other ingredients for the cocktail.
This bottle of Luminore Prosecco Superiore comes from La Marca Vineyards. La Marca is one of my go to Preseccos as it is easy to locate in my neck of the woods. This was my first experience with the Luminore however. It is made from 100% Glera grapes. It is bright, clear, crisp and lovely.
While this cocktail is very festive looking and perfect for the season, it was truly a shame to mix this bottle of Luminare with other ingredients. This bottle is too special to mix with anything. It just needs to be poured and enjoyed as an apertif or perhaps paired with an entree of grilled chicken salad.

This drink looks amazing. I am sitting here right now wondering if there will ever come a day when I will once again feel comfortable serving wine at a holiday. Kinda sad.
I know but at least you can rejoice in your kids sobriety. My son has been sober since two days before Christmas. One day at a time. My sil has her son who is fighting his battle living with her. They come over here when they want to have a beer or wine. Our children, even when grown, rule our lives LOL
I enjoy getting comments and feedback from my audience. Please let me know what you think, keeping in mind that we are all entitled to our own beliefs and opinions. I am happy to hear yours as long as they are stated nicely.
Merry Christmas
