September went out with a bang around here. My brother, Larry, and his wife, Mary, arrived from California in time to celebrate his and Angel Face's birthdays. We went out for dinner at a revolving Sushi Bar that has become Angel Face's favorite restaurant.
She was very happy with the necklace Aunt Mary and Uncle Larry gifted her. We celebrated the day before her birthday because the next day, our Godson married an amazing woman.
My sister and Godson during the Mother/Son dance at the wedding. The happy couple requested that no photos of the ceremony be shared until they post the professional photos when they return from their honeymoon.
We were scheduled to leave on the following Friday for a trip to Cabo San Lucas, so the next few days were filled with visiting friends and family who wanted to see Larry and Mary before we left.
Thursday night, Frank and I went to our first Broadway show of the season in Detroit to see The Notebook; it was a great production. We were supposed to leave from the play to stay at the airport for our flight to Cabo; however, three separate Category 5 storms were lined up in the Pacific Ocean heading for our resort, so the trip was canceled.
Before the trip was canceled, our niece, Stephanie, invited Larry and Mary to stay at their house while we were gone. When we decided to cancel the trip, Chuck, who was going with us, decided to come here and spend the week with us instead. Stephanie hosted a family gathering the following day. I was happy we could attend.
This brought us to the current week. Frank, Chuck, and I have been spending a lot of time together and meeting up with others, including those who were supposed to be in Cabo with us. Then on Tuesday, September 29th, at 3:33 AM, our newest grandson, Kylian, arrived. Amy picked up the Angel Face and Julien's parents, and we picked up breakfast and headed to the hospital. We are all enamored with our new little guy. I have dubbed him King Kylian because he already rules my heart.
The following day, we picked up the Angel Face and Julien's Mom, and went to the Taubman Center in Detroit, where the Angel Face had 5 pieces of her artwork on display. We were very excited to find that one of the Angel Face's projects had been chosen for the cover of the program. Mama and Daddy were very disappointed they couldn't attend. We shared tons of videos and photos with them.
Today we are having another Dubrul family gathering at Blake's Cider Mill with Larry and Mary. Tonight, Nicole, Pierre, and Roz are coming for dinner before Chuck leaves. Tomorrow we are going to go see our new little guy and take dinner with us.
Mary and Larry are returning to our house this weekend. On Sunday, we are having some of Mary's family and friends over for dinner. On Thursday, we are taking Larry and Mary out for dinner and to see Chicago: The Musical. They will leave Friday morning to stay with Mary's sisters for the last few days of their stay before boarding the train back to California.
