A Berrcuterie Board to Celebrate Flag Day and the Weekly Menu

Tomorrow is Flag Day. That is a great occasion to serve up this Red, White, and Blue Berrcuterie Tray. Of course, you can serve this all summer long, but it is especially fun on Memorial Day, Flag Day, and Independence Day.

Berrcuterie
When I was thumbing through my lastest issue of Delish, the very last recipe was this fun Berrcuterie Board.  I had just made a visit to the Farmer's Market where I had scored some gorgeous Michigan Strawberries.  I bought some cherries, raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries from the International marketplace and decided to make this berrcuterie.

I was originally going to serve it up as an appetizer when some of the family came by for dinner but then I decided to make this Jalapeno Popper Pizza as an appetizer and added some store-bought cookies to the tray to make it dessert instead.

You can make this tray your own by using whatever fruits you like.  The dip is simply ricotta cheese mixed with honey and a little sea-salt.

I like the idea of a Berrcuterie Tray, especially this time of year when fruit is at it's best.  We went strawberry picking at Blakes Farm's yesterday and I am going to make up another tray for us on Father's Day when we have family dinner.  This tray, though, will have a chocolate dip for the fruit.

Thursday evening we are going out to dinner with Jessica and Julien who have chosen Summer Solstice as the day they be tied together legally instead of only by heartstrings.

On Friday, we are going to a reception to celebrate the marriage of our family friends the Cherlucks, for Mads and her partner, Kara,
