Stacy of Food Lust People Love is hosting this week and asked us to join her in sharing favorite birthday recipes. When my son Chuck was young he asked for this pie every birthday. I was happy to comply as it is not only easy peasy but one of my favorites too.
Let's take a look at the other favorite birthday recipes.....
- Eggless Mango Semolina Cake from Sneha's Recipe
- {Harry Potter} Platform 9 3/4 Cake (Chocolate Cake with Coconut Cream Cheese Frosting) from Amy's Cooking Adventures
- Hawaiian Beef Sticks from Palatable Pastime
- Holy Cow Chocolate Pie from A Day in the Life on the Farm
- The Mann Men's Birthday Treats: Bûche De Noël, Baked Alaska, and Tiramisù from Culinary Cam
- Passion Fruit Posset from Food Lust People Love
When my two eldest kids were young they preferred Birthday Pie over Birthday Cake. Amy always requested Apple and Chuck always requested this Holy Cow Chocolate Pie. I first got this recipe from a little restaurant up in the Upper Peninsula in Michigan where we would go snowmobiling. I had a piece of this pie one night and was so crazy about it that the waitress went into the back and wrote out the recipe for me.
We are talking 30 years ago. I don't remember the name of the restaurant nor the name of the waitress but I do remember how delicious this cake was and how much I enjoyed it that first time and each time I have made it since.
