This jelly donut bundt cake is super easy to make starting with a boxed cake mix and was a huge hit with the family celebrating Frank's birthday.

I made the cake for this event for my husband's birthday party that I held the day before we were leaving on vacation. When everyone had left, I downloaded my camera onto my computer and emptied the scan disk card so it would be ready to go.
I left for vacation, forgetting the camera at home, of course. We had a great time on vacation however coming home was quite the experience. We left Cabo San Lucas on Saturday afternoon. When we arrived at LAX we learned our flight to Detroit had been canceled. It took us 3 days and 4 flights to finally get home.
It is Tuesday morning and I sat down to write this post to share with you today. I went into my photo files to upload pictures from the birthday file to load onto this post. I was unable to find the file. I finally searched my pc and did find the file, however when I went to open it, it was empty. I have done everything I can think of to locate the photos. I think they are just GONE.
However, my daughter did take a video of us singing and the Angel Face helping to blow out candles and had sent it to me. So this is the only photo that I have of the Jelly Donut Cake that I am sharing today.
Frank does have a recovery program for my camera on his computer and he is trying to see if he can find the file on the card using that. Fingers crossed.
So here are the steps I took to create this cake. I first baked it and after cooling for 15 minutes, poked holes in the middle. Then I poured the melted jam into the holes and let it cool in the pan for another 30 minutes before turning it out onto a wire rack to cool completely. Finally I placed it onto a cake stand and added the glaze.
I'm so happy that Frank could recover these photos for me to share. I can't wait to read the other's articles and see their recipes.

Jelly Donut Bundt Cake
Moist yellow cake filled with jam and covered with a glaze.

Ingredients
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1 c. milk
- 1 stick butter, melted
- 4 eggs
- 1 (9 oz) jar jam of choice (I used Michigan 4 Berry Jam)
- 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
- 3 T. milk
Instructions
- In large bowl of stand mixer, fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the cake mix milk, butter and eggs until well combined, about 2 minutes.
- Pour into a bundt pan that has been liberally treated with baking spray and bake in a preheated 325* oven for about 45 minutes, or until a skewer inserted removes cleanly.
- Cool the cake in the pan for 15 minutes and then use the handle of a wooden spoon to create holes in the down the middle of the cake while it is still in the pan, wiping the handle with a damp paper towel between each hole.
- Place the jam into a small microwave safe measuring cup and heat in 15 second increments, stirring after each, until melted. If your jam has chunks of fruit, as mine did, you will need to use a blender or immersion blender to puree it so it is able to be poured.
- Using a spoon, pour the melted jam into the holes you have made in the cake. Let cool in the pan for about half an hour.
- Run a butter knife or spatula around the edges of the bundt pan and cake and turn onto a cooling rack to cool completely.
- Transfer the cake to a serving platter. Beat together the powdered sugar with 3 Tablespoons of milk until smooth. Brush half of the glaze over the cake using a silicone pastry brush. Let set for 5 minutes and then brush the remaining glaze over the cake.
